Damien Valero convoque le corps à travers des fragments réalisés avec des techniques mêlées : vidéo, volume,
photographie numérique, montage sonore. Il organise un parcours
où l’on peut tourner autour d’installations, de scènes qui évoquent
des rituels sacrés reconfigurés
: variations autour du nombril, mains et pieds moulés autour d’un banquet imaginaire, autel à sainte Agathe. Le corps devient aussi élément d’architecture. L’artiste plonge le spectateur dans une réflexion
sur l’enveloppe, ce qui nous entoure, les murs des villes, la peau des choses, l’écorce des êtres. En organisant des manques, des vides dans les représentations, il pousse le spectateur à réinventer les corps dont il ne reste que des fragments, des souffles, des textes, des postures,
des signes organiques.
Damien Valero summons the body through fragments created with mixed techniques: video, threedimensional
models, digital photography
and sound montage. He sets out an itinerary where one can wander around installations, scenes which bring to mind reconfigured
sacred rituals: variations on the navel, hands and feet moulded
around an imaginary banquet, an altar to Saint Agatha. The body also becomes an element of architecture.
The artist draws the spectator
into a reflection on the envelope,
that which surrounds us, the walls of cities, the skin of things, the outer layer of being. By organising
empty spaces, voids in representation,
he incites the spectator to reinvent bodies of which there remain only fragments, breath, texts, postures, organic signs.
